East West Ride Roam BrochureV2

Both Donald Trump and I are new to the role of President, and we are both finding out that it is not straightforward. At the moment, Rogaine Tasmania’s upcoming event schedule is a bit “up in the air”.

The organisers of the Rheban event have discovered that much of the forest area they were planning on using has become impenetrably overgrown. Also – there are issues accessing many areas due to breeding raptors and shore birds. To best utilise this great area, the event will be moved to early next year, probably as a 12 and 6-hour. We’ll let you know the new date as soon as possible.

We are looking at substituting a 12 and 6-hour event to be held in the Derwent Valley on the date that the Rheban event was to be held. This event will only occur if we can quickly raise an organising team.  We already have one volunteer, and the committee can assist with map production and landowner approvals. The committee will take care of administration and catering matters. So, this would be a very easy introduction to being a rogaine organiser. This low key and fun 3-hour event will reuse the public areas of the recent Town and Country Metrogaine around Kingston. The appeal in the last newsletter generated a volunteer – but we could use some more help. Please contact This email address is being protected from spambots. Get your entries in now – the annual foot and bike mini-rogaine is for everyone! A mountain bike has been advisable for some previous MTBNav events, but a hybrid bike will do just fine for this exploration of Hobart’s eastern suburbs, parks and bushlands. In fact, if you are happy to be classed as “non-competitive” you can ride an e-bike! The important thing is to participate, to get out in the winter sunshine with friends, and maybe discover a few new quiet corners around Greater Hobart.

This year the event starts and finishes at the Montagu Bay Scout Hall and covers the streets, hills and reserves in Howrah to Geilston Bay and Mornington to New Town. Teams of 2 to 5 people can enter either the 3 or 5 hour event.

More details and entry are now open via our website.
