Kingborough Local Links Metrogaine – Entries closing in a week
So you know about the gorgeous beaches and coastal cliffs, but did you know that Kingston and Blackmans Bay also have lots of tiny parks, lovely little pockets of bushland, walking tracks along tree-lined creeks and very pleasant residential streets – all connected by many little tracks between the houses? Come and experience all this at the three-hour Kingborough Local Links Metrogaine on Saturday 3 February. A sumptuous afternoon tea is included in the price. Residents of Kingston and Blackmans Bay have mowed their lawns, trimmed their hedges and swept their driveways in anticipation of you walking past their place. Don’t disappoint them by forgetting to enter.
A reminder that the AGM will commence after the presentations for the Metrogaine at the Blackmans Bay Hall (24 Ocean Esplanade) commencing at approximately 6:30pm, Saturday the 3rd of February 2018.
We’ve not heard any rumours of an impending coup d'état, so the bulk of the existing committee will be standing for re-election. We’d dearly welcome new faces and ideas on the committee as we have more tasks than people able to do them. In particular, we are looking for:
an equipment officer. This isn’t a big job. The duties involve the upkeep of our equipment - tables, tents, water bottles, control flags and so on but doesn’t include the electronic punching equipment.
a promotions officer. To liaise with organisations with similar interests, and to promote RT events via the media, running and bushwalking groups, and some outdoor stores.
