Pillies Road, Ellendale.

The MTBNav-Bush event is a four hour or two hour rogaine able to be completed either on a mountain bike or on foot. Course area is the Pillies Road plantation area north of Ellendale in the Derwent Valley, 81kms from Hobart. Registration for the four hour opens at 8.45am (start 10.30am), and for the two hour at 10.30am (start 12noon). This event is conducted along the same lines as the MTBNav-Metro, but with riders and walkers able to experience and enjoy a bush setting.

Event Details

 

The event is for teams of two to five persons either on mountain bikes or on foot, where participants devise their own route to visit as many controls on the map and thus collect as many points as possible in the time available. There is not a solo or individual category.

 

Entries for the event are now open.. Entries can be submitted and paid for through the online EntryHUB. Subscribe to our newsletter on the left of the screen for event and entry updates. 

 

Cost is $35 per person per event, or $25 per person per event for a full time student aged 25 years or under, and includes the light refreshments afterwards.

 

Sportident electronic timing will be used. For teams without a sportident e-Stick, they can be hired for a $10 deposit per event per team.  This is refunded at the finish when the e-Stick is returned.

 

Deadline for entries is midnight on Wednesday 26th October.  There is no entry on the day for the event.

 

Teams need to be fully self sufficient with food and drinks, and carry first aid gear.

 

Assembly, start and finish are 4.5kms along Pillies Road which is 81 kms from Hobart through Westerway, and signposted at about 5 kms north of Ellendale and 5 kms south of Meadowbank Lake.

 

Start of the four hour is 10.30am and start of the two hour is 12.00 noon.

 

Light refreshments will be provided from about 2.00pm with presentations at around 3.15pm.
