Competition Categories

Ages are as of the 31st December of the year of the competition.

A team shall consist of two, three, four or five members. A team that has a member under 15 years of age must also have a member 19 years or over.

Entrants can identify as a man, woman or other. 

There are three gender categories of competition:

  1. Men (M): All team members must be men.
  2. Women (W): All team members must be women.
  3. Mixed (X): All other teams, including any team with an entrant identifying as other.

And five age categories of competition within each gender category. 

  1. Open: No age restriction
  2. Youth/Under 23 (Y): All team members must be 23 years of age or under.
  3. Veteran (V): All team members must be 45 years of age or over.
  4. Super Veteran (SV): All team members must be 55 years of age or over.
  5. Ultra Veteran (UV): All team members must be 65 years of age or over.

There is also the:

  • Family category (F): A family team includes a member under 15 and a member 19 or over who are related to each other. The team may include other non-related members.
  • Novice category (N): All team members are at their first rogaine.

For bike events, teams using an e-bike will have their score determined and publicised but will not have category placings or prizes awarded.
