The Event Date
ARC2027 will occur on the weekend of 17 & 18 April 2027. So mark your calendars now for some navigation fun, or to refine your partner selection for the World Champs being held in South Australia later that year.
We are planning to open entries in early November.
As an Australasian Champs, this will be a 24-hour event, but we will be running a concurrent non-championships 6-hour event.
The Event Name
After many suggestions, pondering and to-ing and fro-ing, we have settled on the event name being the Tiers of Joy. We have someone working on a logo based on the event name and it looks promisingly awesome! We’ll definitely let our interstate competitors know what the Tassie definition of “tiers” is.
The Event Location
The event location has been selected, with some exploratory trips to meet the landowners completed late last year. The best hint we can give right now is that it’s near Ross in the Midlands region.
Call for Volunteers!
Volunteers are the key to all our successful rogaines! Their roles are very much valued and appreciated. We have an immediate need for an event secretary, and help with social media and merchandise. We also need assistance with safety and water patrols, hash house camp set up, event administration, first aid, bus transport coordination and photography. We’ll need several general volunteers who can assist with anything over the event weekend. Many volunteer positions would not exclude you from entering the event.
Volunteers get to socialise on the weekend, meals are provided, and you get to meet and make new friends. Participants are welcome to bring their non-competing partners and friends to give us a hand.
This is an excellent opportunity to take part in organising and managing a significant national rogaining event. If you are enthusiastic and energetic, have a chat with us by emailing
What’s next?
The base map has been made, and detailed course planning has begun. Initial fieldwork is the next big step for the organising team.
See you at the next tier,
